Great Science Adventures--Land Forms by Dinah Zike and Susan Simpson

Another great unit from Dinah and Susan. You get 24 MEATY lessons for ages K-8th. During each lesson, kids construct and read a little book, work on a graphic organizer (Lap Book type) project, do labs, write and research. All their writing can be placed in a cumulative project for review, evaluation, assessment and of course to treasure. It’s all in here: the masters for the little books, the graphics to glue on, clear instructions for all projects, even research/writing assignments broken down by age level. Learn about faults and folds, earthquakes, tsunamis, hot springs, volcanic islands, rock types, fossils, weather and erosion. Make a map folder showing world features, and a 20-tab book showcasing what you learned! Even the library of lesson booklets is student made! Student retention of advanced material will amaze you. (Note: Publisher recommended for grades K-8th, so this is great for families with wide age range. IF HOWEVER you ONLY have children in 3rd grade and UNDER, then let me recommend that you wait on the Great Science Adventure series, and try Considering God’s Creation for those earlier grades. Just my opinion!) One of my favorites to teach.
