This microscope is a WONDERFUL device for examining living organisms, dissection specimens, minerals, virtually anything that you can hold in your hand. Same rugged construction as the 1868 compound microscope. Folks, this is a realy COOL microscope!! 360 Degree Binocular Head 45° inclined eye tubes for optimum viewing and comfort. One side diopter adjustment for eye accomodation Optical System Paired 10X wide field eyepieces with eyeguards. Two sets paired objectives, 1X and 3X mounted in turret for a magnification of 10X and 30X. Dual focusing knobs, rack & pinion mechanism. Illuminator: 3-way switch allows top light, bottom light, or off. Frosted glass stage plate 95mm diameter with clips. Additional black and white contrast stage plate. Low voltage transformer base, built-in 12V 10W. Heavy duty grounded power cord. Base & Arm: Rack and pinion focusing with slip clutch protection. Tension control adjustment eliminates drift. Large 4.5" x 7.5" stage. Body raises, lowers, and may be rotated 360° on pillar for off base viewing. Dust cover and styrofoam case. We have ours out permanently because we can't stop using it.
